Four short plays set in St Louis. Tennessee Williams’ plays offered men and women refuge from the vicissitudes of life in rented beds. In these plays we see an unlucky goodtime girl retain her pride in "Hello from Bertha," a veteran shoe salesman restored to glory in "The Last of My Solid Gold Watches," a fearless mistress asserting her power in "The Pink Bedroom;" a touring chorus girl, in "In Our Profession," trying to settle down in Saint Louis – but with the wrong man.
